Full job description
FULL MOON FARM MANAGER
Full Moon Farm LLC is a grass-fed and grass-finished beef operation with
approximately 200 head of Registered Red Devon, Black Angus, and Red Angus cows.
We also raise heritage breed pastured pork and lamb in season, as well as a small flock
of hens for eggs. Our retail outlets include freezer beef, a self-serve farm store, and
local restaurants.
What began on a 5-acre parcel in our hometown quickly evolved into a cooperative
farming project with our neighbors and non-profits, which has restored over 1,000 acres
of prime farmland in the Hudson Valley back to pastures and hay fields. We lease over
400 acres of pasture and hay fields at the foot of the Shawangunk Mountains in
Gardiner and New Paltz, NY.
In 2024, we are on schedule to harvest 30 head of cattle, 40 lambs, and 50 hogs.
Our holistic farming practices have yielded steady improvement to the once dormant
farmland. We are committed to being good stewards of the land so that we can ensure
the historic farmlands will remain for future generations to enjoy. We have a business
that has a loyal following of customers and is expanding to meet demand.
We are looking to find someone that is highly motivated, can manage their time well, is
willing to learn, can communicate well, work well with others, and can grow with the
farm. This is a relatively autonomous position and requires creative problem-solving.
