Salary Range: $80,000 – $125,000

Along with our members, Trinitas Farming is committed to industry best practices, supporting our people and our local communities and the responsible use of resources and the environment.Job DescriptionThe Ranch Manager – Stockton, CA will be directly responsible for all agronomy of approximately 7,500 acres of permanent crops and assisting with the development of future acquisitions. This position shall be responsible for hiring, training and/or supervising farm workers or contract for services to carry out the day-to-day activities of the orchard health maintenance. The Ranch Manager shall supervise and review irrigation scheduling, crop nutrition, cultivation and harvest timing. In addition, they shall scout crops and identify pests, including making recommendations on treatment. This position will report directly to the Director of Farming, Northern Region.
The primary responsibility of the candidate will be ultimately up to the Director of Farming, Northern Region, but some duties may include:

Budget Development
Activity Budget;
Forecasting Budget Variances;
Responisble for implementation and tracking of the budgeted plans including:
Irrigation
Fertility and Recommendation
Ordering
Application
Reporting actuals.
Pest control and weed management
Quality Control
Labor
Reporting actuals
Field Operations
Scheduling activities;
Coordinate the daily operations of maintaining healthy productive orchards;
Direct and coordinate worker activities, such as irrigation, chemical applications, harvesting, and bee coordination;
Monitor activities, such as irrigation, chemical applications, harvesting, and bee coordination;
Communication with management on orchard health;
Ensure adherence to all Federal, State, and Local laws;
Ensure safety of daily activites;
Keep detailed records of orchard checks;
Check fields for insect damange and disease;
In-season trapping deployment;
Check crops during harvest and direct harvest activities.
Chemical Recommendations
Develop plan and prepare appropriate recommendation;
Prepare recommendations and SDS labels for operations team;
Manage chemical inventory;
Manage ordering of fertilizers and chemicals needed for applications;
Prepare operations team for spray and supervise spray, including calibrations and speed of machines;
Monitor chemical mixing tanks and other spray operations during spray;
Coordinate with applicators to ensure recommendations are closed in a timely fashion;
Close recommendations in a timely fashion;
Prepare and issue all NOIs and PURs;
Check fields after completion of spray to ensure accuracy;
Maintain recommendations in Agrian and ATS.

Water SchedulingReview recommendations from outside contractors regarding application of water;Prepare irrigation schedule;Work with Director of Water Resources to manage usage of water and compare to actual usage;Oversee scheduling of water.Oversee maintenance and operations of ranch irrigation infrastructure.Production Manager TasksUpdate team with regard to schedule of operations;Review and manage data from various technology platforms;Manage and update crop card on biweekly basis.Assist with Growth of CompanyLook for opportunities to expand systems;Enhance the operation procedure, systems and principles; Management reporting;Contribute operations information and recommend strategic plans; Prepare and complete action plans; Identify trends; Improve operational management systems and processes;Support the overall success of the ranch.Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office software, e-mail, internet, and spreadsheets
Good diagnostic and decision making skills
Proven ability to effectively communication – verbal & written skills

Qualifications:

PCA certification (preferred)
2-5 year’s experience in an Ag-related field
Permanent crop experience required
Ag-related college degree preferred
Valid Driver’s License

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
