We are looking for a detail-oriented and self-motivated Farm Hand with a desire to have a career in agriculture. The Farm Hand will report to the Farm Manager and work closely with farm staff to manage and fulfill all farm needs and activities.
The Farm Hand will perform daily farm chores, ensure proper animal health and well-being, and complete various farm jobs. As a constituent of Azuluna Farms, the Farm Hand will follow Azuluna Farms’ policies and procedures. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Who we are:
Woodstock Sustainable Farms (WSF) is the premier hub farm within the network of Azuluna Farms. WSF raises sheep, pigs, broilers, and layers on pasture using regenerative agriculture practices and adaptive grazing.
As a hub farm, we provide resources to new and aspiring farmers who are looking to expand the agricultural services of their land or integrate livestock into existing agricultural practices (spoke farms).
We utilize a regional “hub & spoke” farm system and incorporate the best in sustainable, regenerative farming practices based on world-class university standards. Azuluna Farms is the sister company to Azuluna Foods, a premium food brand operating out of the Johnson & Wales Harborside Campus in Providence, RI; its mission is to create delicious foods designed by registered dietitians featuring our pasture-raised meats to support the holistic health of our local communities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Daily farm chores to care for the livestock including feeding, watering, and basic animal care
– Cleaning, grading, packaging and fulfilling egg orders
– Basic farm upkeep and maintenance
– Perform pasture rotations
– Aid in various farm jobs to help ensure animal welfare is priority and timelines are being met

– Ability to work as a contributing team member, work productively, patiently, and cooperatively with other team members and external customers
– Ability to pay attention to detail and learn quickly
– Ability to lift 50 lbs
– Handle working in harsh weather conditions
– Ability to work holidays and weekends
Requirements:
– Preferred past experience working on a farm and with livestock
– High School education or equivalent
– Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in animal science or agriculture
– Good driving record
Compensation/Schedule:
– Full-time position
– Hourly wages start at $20.00/hr
– 40 hours per week
– 5 days per week
– Rotating holidays and weekends
– Health benefits stipend

License/Certification:
- Driver’s License (Required)
