We are looking for a Regional Crop Lead in our Vegetable Seed division with a focus on our Protected Crops (tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers) segmentation for the Americas (North/South America and Australia) region. This position is a remote role, but should reside in the Southern US or Southwest US.
Our Regional Crop Lead Protected Crops will:
Translate crop tactical plans (KPIs, Must Win Battles (MWBs)) into the regional marketing plan and to follow up implementation to achieve the projected targets in the selected countries within the region Collaborate closely with the sales organization (Country Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, etc.) and all the regional Marketing and Sales (M&S) organization to implement the objectives and strategies that drive to reach our crop targets into the countries Develop regional crop market intelligence including market sizing, trends, downstream, competitors, spot opportunities and capture in the strat plan tool Lead and Foster crop community within region. Keep crop expertise within the region
As a Regional Crop Lead – Protected Crops, you create chemistry by
Supporting M&S organization with marketing and sales input for preparation and audit of the Protected Crops portfolio. Developing market intelligence for the crop, including market sizing and trends, signaling opportunities and customer needs through analysis and research to create innovative customer solutions and to support the development of the Protected Crops product portfolio Translating crop tactical plans (KPIs, MWBs) into the regional marketing plan in collaboration with Crop Marketing and to follow up implementation to achieve the projected targets in the selected countries within the region Collaborating with product development on future pipeline development, defining country portfolio (through regional elevations), and repositioning commercial assortment as per market requirements. Being responsible for regional crop specific pricing on introductions and repositioning (incl. promotional) Being responsible for elevation to commercial at regional level after first introduction by Crop (within global guardrails coming from Vista); incl. developing introduction plan for the variety (price, placement, promotion, …) Launching new regional and adapt existing global crop concepts. Incl. detailing each concept implementation and steering and collaborate with relevant stakeholders for building introduction strategy Being accountable for demand planning for the region Being part of customer Team for relevant Customers for the crop to bring added values to customers and to capture market trends
Qualifications – BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Your formula for success
Bachelor/masters in agriculture marketing or related field. 5 or more years of commercial experience. Preference for marketing/product management (technical marketing). Previous agriculture or food experience, strongly preferred Previous international business experience, preferred Fluent in English and Spanish Strong working knowledge of MS Office Ability to travel up to 25% including internationally
