About the Unit

To support our growth ambition and our oath to grow a nature positive food future, we are hiring a Sales Agronomist with strong crop nutrition knowledge and previous sales success. The territory for this position will be majority based in Eastern Idaho, but will also cover parts of Western Montana, Northern Utah and Wyoming. Ideally, the candidate will be based in the Eastern Idaho area between American Falls and St. Anthony. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager for the Intermountain West Region, the Sales Agronomist will be responsible for growing sales and executing Yara’s sales activities related to a territory within specified crop segments. In partnership with the local retailers and their farm advisors, Yara’s Sales Agronomist will create demand for Yaras crop nutrition solutions which include Yara’s dry and liquid fertilizer products in addition to Yara’s full line of foliar and impregnation fertilizers, fertigation products and digital tools. The Sales Agronomist will work in close cooperation with Yara’s Crop Managers and sales and marketing teams to actively promote Yara’s crop nutrition solutions through demonstration trials, field days and farmer meetings as well as bring farmer insight into the development of new products and services. Responsibilities

Support Regional Managers on execution of annual sales plan.
Work with local retailers to create demand from farmers for Yara crop nutrition products and programs.
Provide technical support for Yara crop nutrition products and programs at retail local level and farm level.
Execute demo trials and data collection and organize field days in conjunction with retailer’s advisors and farmers.
Maintain and populate CRM to capture sales call reports, follow through opportunities and to create customer and farmer data base for campaigns.
Work closely with Digital teams, Crop Managers, Marketing, Product Management to execute sales action plans.
Gain and share market intelligence information on fertilizer, foliar and micronutrient trends as far as crops, customers, digital and competitor activity.
Gain and share farmer insights for digital promotions and further engagement and demand creation with farmers.
Manage and resolve technical issues and customer product complaints using Yara established process and tool.

Profile

Minimum of 5+ years proven successful sales experience in agriculture.
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or Ag related field. Certified Agronomy record (CCA or equivalent) is preferred.
Hold working experience in similar roles and industries including experience with value added fertilizers.
Crop nutrition knowledge is essential with good agronomic knowledge of crops grown in the region (crop nutrition knowledge is a clear advantage).
Hold market knowledge, with good network of farmers and retail distributors.
Experience presenting to small or large audiences.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong business orientation, organization and planning skills.
Proficient in CRM Software, MS office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, as well as digital tools, such as Twitter, and Facebook.
Be open to learning new skills and ideas.
Self-motivated and responsibility driven.

Additional Information

Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident.
Must hold valid driver´s license and Drive safely to necessary appointments (short or long distances). Driving is a substantial part of position holder´s time.
Will be required to stand, at times for long periods (i.e. presentations, trade show booths).
Walk necessary distances, in even or uneven surfaces (i.e. farmer fields).
Bend and reach material (i.e. inspection of soils and crops, taking soil, tissue, and harvest samples).
Lift bags or jugs, set up and dismantle different apparatus (i.e. demonstration trials, show booths).
Read and utilize computer and other relevant work material.
Complete all Yara North America Agronomy Competency learning Path requirements over the course of his/her job function.
