Job Description

Join our lively farm crew, work outside in a healthy setting, and learn about organic farming. We have many years experience, and are happy to share our knowledge with young and beginning farmers.

We raise 35 acres of certified organic vegetables for our CSA customers and for local natural foods coops.

SEASONAL FARMHANDS (FT or PT)
– Tasks include planting, weeding, harvesting, washing and packing produce.
– Full-time (FT, 5 days/week) and part-time (PT, 4 days/week) schedules available.
– Prior farming experience is valuable but not necessary.
– Must be physically fit and able to lift 40 lb.
– Competitive wage ($16.00 – $17.00/hour depending on life experience), plus lots of organic veggies to take home.
– Most first-year employees receive a $0.50/hour year-end bonus.
– We offer a gas subsidy for your travel to the farm, and employees living in Madison often carpool together.
– We do not provide housing.

Available Farmhand seasons
– Full season; mid-May through mid-November
– Summer only: mid-May through late August
– Fall only: mid-August through mid-November.

Available Farmhand schedules
FT, ~40 hours/week: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30/6:00 pm
PT, ~32 hours/week: Four full days during Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30/6:00 pm
