The Seed Manager II is responsible for supporting seed sales activities at assigned locations, working within an area support team and ensuring that the company’s goals and objectives are implemented.
The employee’s primary duty must be the performance of office and some manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of Helena or Helena’s customers (including help plots, harvest plots, and sort seed). This also includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.

What your day may look like

Purchases all seed for the location and maintains inventory for all inbound and outbound seed.
Charge of all seed programs (replants, drought claims, etc.)
Pre-pay seed and bookings
Preparing deliveries and loading trucks
Assist office and maintain day to day functions including but not limited to answering the phone, invoicing, etc.
Plants seed plots to test for new seed varieties in order to provide sales personnel with latest yield data.
Consults with Branch Manager on all levels of pricing.
Attends necessary seed meetings and remains current on new varieties of seed.
Other duties as assigned by your leader.
Reliable and regular attendance is expected.

Education and experience needed for this position

Bachelor’s degree is required.
Experience in the seed business is preferred.
A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Good interpersonal skills.
Basic knowledge of farming operations.
Leadership experience is required.

The work environment for this position may require the employee to work in an outdoor setting in all types of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements. When working outdoors and possibly around moving equipment/mechanical parts, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations and a risk of electrical shock. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
