Your Role:
The Sr. Stewardship Agronomist role will be accountable for planning, managing and executing all aspects of Nobell Foods stewarded soybean pipeline. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations and will assist in developing, administering and auditing technical standards, operating procedures and production programs that fully meet and exceed compliance with regulations. You will constantly assess opportunities to strengthen Nobell seed containment and stewardship practices through the continuous improvement of processes. You will work in close partnership with the Nobell Operations, Quality & Compliance and Regulatory teams to develop and maintain best in class field operations performance

Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of coordination, recording, tracking and execution of seed and grain production processes according to company stewardship protocols with a focus on containment and in-season data collection.
Audit, inspect and improve processes to confirm the highest level of stewardship is conducted throughout the grain program You will confirm strict adherence to company standard operating procedures to ensure full regulatory compliance.
Develop training materials and train staff and external partners on stewardship protocols to ensure that all relevant parties are qualified to carry out their responsibilities relating to seed and grain production while fully adhering to all regulatory policies and procedures.
Assist in evaluating and contracting required production acres with seed and grain producers to meet stewardship requirements while maximizing yield, minimizing freight costs, meeting timelines and delivering seeds/grain that meet quality specifications.
Perform pre-season planning duties including but not limited to potentially recruiting new seed/grain producers, field selection and qualification.
Develop and advise producers on programs regarding agronomic issues in production fields including, weed and insect programs, and timely field inspection programs.
Understand species and variety characteristics, seed quality standards, and crop delivery requirements to optimize seed/grain specifications.
Perform field scouting and reporting to growers. Understand and advise irrigation and spraying applications with producers.
Coordinate and execute audit/inspection activities, as assigned.
Develop and maintain links between the company and external partners to achieve agreed program objectives.
General administrative duties, including collecting and inputting data for production contracts, in-season reports, creating new vendors, vendor invoices and pricing grower contracts throughout the year.
Communicate effectively and timely, through regular updates, as required.
Assist with in-field safety training promoting a culture of safety and stewardship throughout the supply chain.
All other duties as assigned.
Initiate and manage all aspects of permitting requirements to maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Prepare movement and environmental release permits using permitting systems, submit required reports, evaluate and assess conditions of field trials/environmental releases and coordinate with other Nobell Foods personnel in developing and managing grower contracts.
Ensure that data and information associated with regulated field releases is complete and made readily available to Nobell Foods Leadership.
Collaborate with both internal and external personnel to ensure regulatory compliance in international markets.
Manage shipment and receipt of organisms and crop materials.
Manage internal regulatory inventory and documentation files.
Support the development of quality management systems practices and in establishing the Excellence Through Stewardship program, including writing and updating SOPs, organizing documents and forms, checking forms filled in by third parties, as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor of Science degree, with an emphasis in Agronomy or related field, preferred.
Over 10 years of agronomy experience, with an emphasis in stewardship, preferred.
Have experience managing regulated field trials
Excellent communication, team building, and interpersonal skills. Fluent in both Spanish and English.
Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Sound computer skills, which include proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software and willing to learn new software systems.
Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Travel up to 75% of the time with the heaviest travel during the growing season. The core growing season may require long durations on location.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, i.e., heat, humidity, rain, cold, etc.
Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces.
Must be able to drive or ride in a vehicle for long periods of time.
Must be able to repetitively lift up to 55 lbs.
Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder and work safely at heights over 30 feet to inspect grain bins and production equipment.
Position will require significant travel between growing or processing sites and to visit various partners.
The pay range is currently between $90,000 to $120,000 annual gross compensation. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
