On-Campus employment opportunities at Columbia Basin College (CBC) are available. Students who believe the experience can be a valuable part of their education are encouraged to apply, with some positions requiring student work study funding for eligibility. This announcement will be used to develop a pool of applicants for agriculture program student worker positions for the quarter.
Pay Range: $15.74 – $15.74 per hour.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist Agriculture Program staff with the following:
Transplanting plants, sorting and planting seeds; irrigating field and green house plants; harvesting various crops and taking notes on field experiments;
Calibrating, adjusting and operating tillage implements, cultivators, fertilizer application equipment, planters and harvesting equipment;
Greenhouse operations including watering, fertilization, and crossing plants using bumble bees will be a primary responsibility during winter months; and
Other appropriate duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled at Columbia Basin College:
For Non-Work study: enrolled in at least one (1) credit;
For Work Study: enrolled in at least six (6) degree-required credits, or five (5) degree-required credits for Summer;
Must be able to organize agriculture facilities and oversee weed management, as well as input data into computer and work with spreadsheets;
Must have a valid Washington State Driver’s license;
Good communication, computer, and customer service skills; and
Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
PROCESS NOTE:
