Role Overview

In this role, you’ll work year-round on a variety of tasks, including operating and maintaining farm equipment. Responsibilities shift with the seasons—spring and fall ground prep, planting, and combining, while winter focuses on farm maintenance and equipment upkeep. You will be operating machinery like tractors, combines, and planters, as well as driving trucks and performing light equipment repair.

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in operating and maintaining various types of farm machinery and equipment. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our agricultural processes, including irrigation and greenhouse management. A passion for farming and equine activities is a plus.

Duties

• Operate and maintain farm machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Perform routine inspections and repairs on equipment to minimize downtime.
• Utilize hand tools for equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
• Assist in irrigating fields and managing water resources effectively.
• Work with greenhouse operations, ensuring plants receive adequate care and resources.
• Collaborate with team members to execute daily farming activities efficiently.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Equipment Operator or similar role in an agricultural setting.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Familiarity with farm machinery, including tractors, plows, and irrigation systems.
• Experience with welding is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting heavy objects.
• A passion for farming, equine activities, or horticulture is highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 – $28.00 per hour
