Operations Support – Plant

Job Description

The Plant Operations Support role’s purpose is to set up, install, repair, clean, and maintain machinery and equipment in the plant. Working with Industrial Maintenance Technicians, vendors, service people, and other maintenance personnel it is their responsibility to support the smooth, efficient and effective operation of all plant activities and functions.

Core Responsibilities:
Maintenance Responsibilities (40%)
Perform general repairs to the shipping department equipment and machinery
Assist Industrial Maintenance Team on planned major downs and projects
Perform daily inspection of shipping department equipment communicate any issues to supervisor and/or maintenance manager
Operations Support Responsibilities (60%)
Maintain and operate water management pits, including the lagoon, and the flume, rock, and mud pits
General Housekeeping and cleaning of the plant area.
Management and disposal of all waste products including culls, foreign material, and sediment from plant operations.
Clean and lubricate Shipping department motorized equipment
Preferred Experience:
Minimum 1 year of related mechanical maintenance experience preferred.
Experience driving farm equipment and commercial trucks wair brakes in similar environments is a plus.
Basic mechanical and electrical comprehension to safely repair common items found on inspections.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to frequently climb stairs and ladders, walk on catwalks and work on and around plant equipment.
Requires the ability to work on-site and in multiple locations and settings.
Requires the ability to clearly understand verbal and written communication from others in person and by telephone.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Work Schedule:
The Plant Operations Support persons work schedule is highly dependent on the time of year and weather conditions. Employees will be expected to work as needed, which will require a great deal of flexibility as to the hours per day/week and the times worked. One can expect 5-6 days per week, depending on seasonal demand.

Heartland Farms is located at 907 3rd Avenue Hancock, WI 54943 in Adams County near the border of Waushara County.

The facility is approximately:

Less than 20-minutes from Bancroft, Coloma, or Plainfield.
About 30 minutes from Adams, Almond, Necedah, Nekoosa, Wautoma, Westfield, or Wild Rose.
About 35-40 minutes from Red Granite, Stevens Point, or Wisconsin Rapids.
