Position Type:

Part-Time or Full-Time (Flexible, based on experience)

FFA/4H students with transportation and work permits welcome to apply too. Summer/Seasonal position open as well

About Us:

Creekside Pet Boarding is more than just a boarding facility—we’re a working hobby farm that integrates animal care, enrichment, and hands-on experiences. Alongside caring for dogs and cats, we maintain a variety of farm animals including chickens, goats (with kids arriving soon), horses, and soon lambs and a calf. We also operate a small farm stand offering fresh eggs and seasonal produce. Our property is active, dynamic, and deeply rooted in animal welfare and land stewardship.

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking, and animal-savvy Farm & Ranch Hand to join our team. This role combines hands-on animal care, property maintenance, and support for our dog enrichment programs. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with a variety of animals, enjoys physical outdoor work, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional farm environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Daily care of farm animals (feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, basic health checks)

* Assist with goat kidding season and care of young animals

* Assist with goat milking and herd health

* Occasional support of boarding staff as needed

* General property maintenance (fencing, minor repairs, cleaning, landscaping, etc.)

* Assist with maintaining the garden and orchard

* Assist with farm stand operations (stocking eggs and produce, light customer interaction if needed)

* Monitor animal behavior and report any health or safety concerns

* Maintain cleanliness and organization across the property

Qualifications:

* Prior experience with farm animals (required)

* Comfortable handling chickens, goats, horses, and other livestock

* Basic maintenance/handyman skills (fencing, tools, repairs, etc.)

* Ability to work independently and follow direction

* Ability to use maintenance and landscaping equipment and drive a tractor and UTV

* Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions

* Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented

* Positive attitude and genuine care for animals

* Experience working on a farm, ranch, or similar environment

Preferred (but not required):

* Experience with animal training or dog handling

* Knowledge of livestock health and breeding
