*Position Summary:*
The crew boss or supervisor is responsible for supervising temporary agricultural workers performing all tasks associated with the production of cherries, pears and apples. Supervisors will train and coach new employees to ensure they are able to prune, thin, and/or harvest fruit in accordance with established company procedures, safety guidelines, and expectations. Supervisors will be responsible for leading the crew in the completion of various projects or tasks.
Qualifications:
At least 1 year of supervisory experience and knowledge of the fruit production process, especially pruning, thinning, and harvest. Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to work with a smart phone/device. Ability to communicate effectively and work with others. Fluency in Spanish is required.

Primary Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Train and coach new workers on proper procedures, occupational safety and food safety protocols, and workplace policies
* Ensure all work assigned by orchard managers is completed in accordance with established guidelines and expectations, including quality and efficiency
* Enforce company policies and work rules, and follow the company’s disciplinary process, if needed
* Monitor and track worker production records using PickTrace devices and paper sheets
* Maintain inventory of work supplies such as ladders, pruning loppers, picking buckets, and apple stem clippers
* Ability to follow directions and guidance from managers while effectively communicating clear instructions and expectations to the crew
* Perform daily van inspections to ensure vans are in good working condition and submit reports for repairs immediately
* Transport workers to and from their housing to the worksite, and to other locations as needed, in a safely manner while following all traffic regulations on public roads
* Communicate promptly with the entire crew to inform them of any work schedule changes due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances
Work Conditions:
* Work will be performed at a fruit-tree orchard in an outdoor environment. Workers may be required to work in various weather conditions, including temperatures ranging from 30°F to 105°F, and occasional light rain.
* Workers may be exposed to dust, fruit odors, and insects/pests found at an orchard
* Work may involve extended periods of standing, walking, and/or bending
* Physical demands include lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., using ladders (10–12 feet) safely to demonstrate to workers how to carry out tasks
* Saturday and Sunday work may be required, especially during the harvest season
Salary and benefits:
The pay range for this position is $19.25- $22.80/hour depending on experience. We offer medical, vision, and dental health insurance benefits, as well as a 401k retirement plan.
