We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Farm Manager to oversee day-to-day operations on our farm. In this role, you will lead hay production, manage cattle and livestock, maintain farm equipment, oversee irrigation, and direct a small team and outside contractors. If you are self-motivated, skilled with machinery, and experienced with livestock care, we’d love to speak with you.
Key Responsibilities
Hay Production & Tractor Operation: Safely operate tractors and implements to cut, rake, bale, and store hay efficiently.
Livestock Care & Management: Monitor cattle, assist with herd movement, support calving/birthing, and maintain overall flock and herd health.
Irrigation Management: Set up, operate, and maintain farm irrigation systems to optimize crop and pasture performance.
Crew & Contractor Oversight: Manage and direct 1–2 farm hands for daily tasks; coordinate and oversee external contractors working on the property.
Equipment & Mechanical Maintenance: Perform routine general and mechanical maintenance on farm equipment, mowers, quads, and small engines.
Vendor & Repair Coordination: Identify major repair needs for heavy machinery/tractors and line out external technicians/mechanics to complete specialized repairs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Proven experience operating farm tractors and haying equipment (cutting, raking, baling).
Direct experience handling cattle, including livestock movement and assisting with births/calving.
Working knowledge of farm irrigation systems.
Basic mechanical aptitude for routine servicing of quads, mowers, and farm implements.
Leadership skills with experience supervising helpers and managing vendor/contractor schedules.
Strong problem-solving ability and comfortable working independently outdoors in all weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license.
