A horse lesson barn in the West Cobb area is seeking reliable and experienced barn help for evening horse care and general barn duties. The ideal candidate enjoys working around horses, takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment, and can work independently once trained.
We are ideally looking for one person available Monday through Friday, but we’re also open to hiring two individuals to share the schedule if availability is limited to a few evenings per week.
Hours:
- Weeknights (Monday–Friday): Evenings, typically between 5:00–8:00 PM
- Start and finish times may vary slightly based on lesson schedules and season
- Each shift averages 2–3 hours per evening
- Weekends: Additional opportunities available
Responsibilities:
- Feeding, watering, and general horse care
- Cleaning and re-bedding stalls
- Sweeping aisles and tidying barn areas
- Turning horses in and out safely
- Helping to tack up and untack horses for lessons as needed
- Refilling water troughs and restocking supplies
- Maintaining inventory of feed, hay, and bedding items
- Organizing the feed room and occasionally stacking hay as needed
- General upkeep and support of the lesson program
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have prior experience handling horses and cleaning stalls
- Must be physically able to lift 45–50 lbs (feed bags or hay bales)
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow directions
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and safety-conscious
- Good references required
Compensation:
- Pay is based on experience and reliability
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $45.00 – $100.00 per day
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
Work Location: In person
