Calf Care Specialist

*Description: *This key position is responsible for the daily care, health, and maintenance of all newborn calves at the dairy. Each specialist is a vital member of a team dedicated to providing healthy a calf environment. This position provides hands-on experience in many of the following areas: loading in/out of animals, feeding animals, animal housing sanitation, and record keeping.
The ideal candidate will have a desire to work with calves, a willingness to learn, a high level of dependability, a solid work history, and the ability to read, write, and understand English. This position offers training and the opportunity for advancement for high achieving employees.
*Duties:*
* Daily milk and grain feedings to all young animals.
* Maintain and update all department records as required.
* Administer sanitation procedures for clean equipment and tools used by animals.
* Work as a team player by accomplishing daily department work requirements and farm goals.
* Complete and comprehend all training as directed by farm leadership.
* Do each task in a complete manner as trained by farm leadership.
* Maintain all bio-security standards.
* Uphold all safety regulations.
* Abide by all company policies, rules and safety regulations as directed on each site.
*Qualifications:*
*Must be able to pass drug test. *
*Education: *High school diploma desired. Some college within an agriculture-based major is preferred.
*Experience: *Previous livestock handling helpful, but not required.
*Other: *Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This job does require to work outdoors and the ability to walk throughout the shift. Display a high level of respect to team members and animals.
