*JOB DESCRIPTION*

For over 30 years, Palm Trees Ltd has specialized in commercial and residential palm installations throughout the greater Charleston area. We are currently seeking an experienced Crew Chief / Tractor Operator to join our team. In this role, every day is a new adventure! This person will haul palms on an open flatbed, operate heavy machinery, and manage a crew, while any downtime will focus on general farm maintenance and completing odd jobs on the property as assigned. A CDL and being mechanically inclined are strongly preferred. This role reports daily to our Johns Island location.

*REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:*

* CDL strongly preferred
* Must be 21+ with valid drivers license
* Must have experience in operating a truck & trailer and heavy machinery
* Related experience in construction, agriculture and/or mechanical repair are a plus
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Ability to take instruction and deliver instruction to crew members effectively
* Experience and/or a willingness to learn operating front load tractors
* Ability to interpret blueprints to guide crew members accordingly on site
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new assignments upon request are required and more important than experience
* Physical strength is required
* On the job training will be provided

*Compensation: *Hourly based on experience

*Hours: *6:30/7am-4pm (M-F), plus overtime
