*Job Overview*
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including trucks, industrial machinery, and farm equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles and machinery operate efficiently, safely, and reliably. *Duties*
* Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and air brake systems.
* Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and fluid replacements to maximize equipment lifespan.
* Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, HVAC units, and complex mechanical components.
* Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs.
* Repair and service heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailer trucks, farm machinery, and industrial equipment.
* Perform assembly and disassembly of machinery parts during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
* Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate lifting equipment or techniques.
* Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed and parts used; ensure compliance with safety protocols at all times.
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering preventative maintenance advice when appropriate.
*Skills*
* Strong mechanical knowledge across a variety of equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery.
* Expertise in diagnostics using schematics and electrical testing tools; ability to interpret technical manuals accurately.
* Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; proficient with power tools and hand tools for repairs.
* Experience working with hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspensions, HVAC units, shocks & struts; capable of troubleshooting complex issues.
* Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service and wheel alignment; familiarity with power tools for assembly/disassembly tasks.
* Ability to operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or inspections; experience with heavy lifting is essential.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
