About Us – Xanadu Farm is an alpaca farm located near Longmont, CO. We are an established alpaca breeding farm with some of the best breeding stock in the US. We have been in operation for 33 years. We graze 60 alpacas on 16 sprinkler-irrigated pastures and grow and bale our own hay from an additional 11 irrigated acres. You will be joining a team of two other employees; one who focuses on maintenance and manages the farm and the other who focuses on animal care. Job Responsibilities – The person filling this position will be assisting in both animal care and farm upkeep, but most of the time will be doing farm maintenance and upkeep. The applicant must be comfortable working with and around the alpacas, horses and our livestock guardian dogs. You will assist in landscaping, fencing, irrigation, barn and pasture cleaning and haying for the farm, as well as animal care. The applicant should have experience operating and maintaining landscaping and farm equipment.

About the Job – The work schedule is generally four 10-hour days. The schedule will probably include one weekend day. We insist upon a non-smoking, drug and alcohol-free environment. Applicant must have reliable transportation to get to work, be on time and able to work with little supervision and to work well with other staff. Applicant must be able to write and speak English and be located in our area. We are not willing to relocate someone, or interview remotely. The candidate must be able to legally work in the US. This is a full-time, year-round position. The compensation is from $22 to $25 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is eligible for 100% employer-paid health insurance after 90 days, 2 weeks per year of paid vacation after 6 months and a very generous fully matching 401-K program.

• Must speak English, be located in our area and be legally qualified to work in the US.
• Experience with landscape and farm work
• Ability to operate and maintain farm and landscaping equipment
• Willingness to work outside
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with our small staff
