*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Caretaker to oversee daily farm operations and animal care. This role involves maintaining farm equipment, caring for livestock, and ensuring the overall health and productivity of the farm environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in farming, animal husbandry, and equipment maintenance, with the ability to work independently and supervise other staff members as needed.
*Responsibilities*
* Provide comprehensive animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and health monitoring of livestock and equine animals
* Operate and maintain farm machinery, power tools, irrigation systems, and heavy equipment such as forklifts and tractors
* Conduct equipment repairs, and general maintenance to ensure operational efficiency
* Supervise farm staff or volunteers, providing guidance on animal handling, equipment use, and safety procedures
* Manage growing processes in greenhouses or outdoor fields, including planting, watering, pruning, and harvesting
* Oversee the use of hand tools and small machinery for various farm tasks
* Maintain cleanliness and safety standards across all farm areas
* Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to feed storage, equipment setup, or livestock movement
* Ensure proper animal handling techniques are followed to promote animal welfare
* 24/7 property security
*Qualifications*
* Supervising experience in a farm or agricultural setting preferred
* Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance
* Strong background in animal husbandry and animal care practices
* Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, tractors, and other farm machinery
* Knowledge of , equipment repair, and general maintenance skills
* Familiarity with equine care and handling techniques
* Hands-on experience with farming practices including irrigation systems, greenhouse management, and crop cultivation
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate power tools effectively
* Strong work ethic with attention to detail in maintaining a safe and productive farm environment
* Must provide two references
