*Overview*
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking *Sod Farm Hand* to join our team at our farm in Waimānalo. This is a physically active, outdoor position involving the cultivation, harvesting, handling, and preparation of sod for landscaping projects and customer orders.
*Work Location:* In person — Waimānalo, Hawai‘i
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with planting, growing, maintaining, and harvesting sod
* Cut, roll, stack, load, and unload sod
* Prepare sod for deliveries and landscape installation projects
* Assist with irrigation, watering, fertilizing, and general crop care
* Operate basic farm, landscaping, and sod-handling equipment
* Perform weed control and general grounds maintenance
* Load and organize materials, tools, and equipment
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
* Inspect sod for quality and report any concerns to the supervisor
* Follow all company safety procedures and supervisor instructions
* Assist with other farm and landscaping duties as needed
Qualifications
* Previous farm, landscaping, nursery, groundskeeping, or general labor experience is preferred
* Ability to regularly lift, carry, and move up to *50 pounds*
* Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday
* Comfortable working outdoors in heat, sun, rain, mud, dust, and other changing weather conditions
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and lift for extended periods
* Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
* Ability to follow instructions and maintain strong attention to safety
* Must be at least 18 years old
* Must maintain a safe, professional, and drug-free work approach
* Reliable transportation to the farm in Waimānalo is required
Schedule and Benefits
* Monday–Friday
* 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
* Approximately 40 hours per week
* Paid bi-weekly
