Farm Semi Truck operator
Full TimeJob Description
About the Role
Cloninger Farms is a family farming operation based out of Farmington, WA. We are currently gearing up for our summer harvest of wheat, canola, and lentils, and we are looking for a reliable, hardworking Semi Truck Driver to join our crew.
This position starts immediately. For the first few weeks, you will be assisting with shop work, equipment maintenance, and odd jobs to ensure our fleet is 100% ready to roll. From mid-July through mid-September, you will transition into your primary role: safely operating our semi-trucks to haul grain during the peak harvest push.
For the right applicant who demonstrates a strong work ethic and takes ownership of their daily responsibilities, there is a strong opportunity to stay on through the fall season and work into a permanent, full-time job if interested.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Harvest (Starting ASAP): Assist with shop prep, truck maintenance, and other general farm duties to get the fleet ready.
Harvest (Mid-July to Mid-September): Safely operate semi-trucks to transport grain directly from the field to the grain terminal, as well as hauling grain from our farm elevator to the main grain terminals.
Navigate steep, rolling Palouse terrain safely and efficiently.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and routine maintenance (checking fluids, greasing, etc.).
Communicate effectively with combine operators and management to keep the harvest moving smoothly.
Requirements
Experience is a plus, but we are happy to train. We will gladly train the right person who brings a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to take direction and work well with our family and crew.
Valid driver’s license (CDL is a major plus, but not strictly required depending on state agricultural exemptions).
Comfortable operating heavy manual-transmission trucks.
Ability to work long hours, weekends, and adapt to weather-dependent schedules during the peak harvest push.
Punctuality, reliability, and a team-first mindset.
What We Offer
Competitive hourly pay (based on experience and CDL status).
Post-Harvest & Full-Time Career Path: If you prove yourself, handle the equipment with respect, and want to continue working after harvest, your duties will shift to hauling our home-stored grain to the main grain terminals. There is a strong opportunity to stay on through the fall season and transition into a full-time role with our farm.
