*Job Overview*
General Farm Assistant is a part-time position that supports all aspects of daily operations on the farm, including planting, cultivating, harvesting, and packing a variety of produce. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. No prior farm experience is required, but a willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
*Responsibilities*
* Assist with soil preparation, seeding, transplanting, and crop maintenance
* Weed, irrigate, and manage crops using natural and sustainable practices
* Harvest, wash, and pack produce for markets, CSA boxes, and wholesale orders
* Operate basic farm tools and equipment safely
* Maintain clean and organized work areas, barns, and packing facilities
* Assist with farmers’ market setup and sales (if applicable)
* Follow all farm safety guidelines and procedures
* Perform other farm-related tasks as needed throughout the growing season
*Qualifications*
* Strong work ethic and positive attitude
* Ability to perform physical labor in a variety of weather conditions (heat, rain, cold)
* Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
* Willingness to learn and adapt to changing tasks
* Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
* Previous farm, garden, or outdoor labor experience is a plus but not required
