EXCAVATOR OPERATOR – MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE
Excavator PROFICIENCY and safe operations
2nd shift 3:45pm–2:15am (must be available to work weekends)
Running equipment AND assisting with labor work in the yard will be required!
Job Description
This position will be responsible for reporting to and receiving directions from the Yard Manager. The position will ensure company goals and objectives are achieved, including safety, productivity, quality control, and customer service. The main time commitment involves safe and efficient operation of recycling equipment, which includes operating an excavator to move and load materials into processing areas in a strategic and metered manner.
Responsibilities include:
Operating excavator to load material into shredder.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment including blade changes and clean-outs when needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Attend safety meetings and promote safe behavior throughout the company.
Meet established yard production goals (sorting, loading, shredding, cost/lbs., etc.).
Maintain superior quality control of finished product.
Attend all scheduled corporate training and meetings.
Maintain all equipment (excavators, shredders, bobcats, etc.).
All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge required:
Manufacturing knowledge
Excavator PROFICIENCY and safe operations
Mechanical aptitude
Skills required:
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and policies
Ability to adapt to changing situations
Ability to work well under pressure with demands and deadlines
Good communication skills
Excellent presence and work ethic
Ability to identify and properly sort all Ferrous and Non-Ferrous materials
