Join our dedicated team at a private horse farm specializing in the care of 8-10 horses, including ponies, retired horses and thoroughbred racehorses on layup. We pride ourselves on providing top-quality care and maintaining a positive environment for both horses and staff. Job is located in Charlottesville, VA.
*Job Overview: *
We are seeking an experienced Groom to assist in daily operations and ensure excellent care for our equine residents. This hands-on position requires involvement in all aspects of horse care, must work well independently as well as with a team and have a passion for horse care and overall well-being.
*Responsibilities: *
– Assist in all aspects of horse care, including feeding, cleaning stalls, grooming, turnout, and blanketing
– Ensure a safe and clean environment for horses and fellow personnel.
*Qualifications: *
– Strong knowledge of horse health, first aid, and grooming practices.
– Excellent leadership and communication skills.
– Must have U.S. work authorization.
-Operation and general tractor maintenance is an added bonus
*Work Schedule: *
– Full-time, 6 days a week, starting at 7:00AM until completion of daily tasks, usually by 4:00pm.
