Horse Trainer/Ranch Hand

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time, in-house *Horse Trainer / Ranch Hand* to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience starting colts, finishing horses, and working with horses at every stage of training. Our program includes breeding, training, and selling quality horses, and we operate a working cattle ranch with a covered arena that provides a variety of training opportunities.

This is a dual-role position requiring both horsemanship and ranch experience. Candidates should be knowledgeable about the daily responsibilities of a working cattle ranch and be willing to contribute wherever needed.

*Qualifications: *The ideal candidate will:

* Have an easy-going, team-oriented, and low-drama personality.
* Be experienced in starting colts under saddle and developing them into finished riding horses.
* Have experience preparing and showing horses (preferred).
* Communicate effectively with owners and horse trainer assistant regarding horses’ training progress.
* Demonstrate a strong work ethic and be dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.

*Responsibilities: *Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Starting, training, and finishing horses.
* Daily care and upkeep of ranch horses.
* Trimming horses’ feet as needed.
* Working cattle.
* Operating and maintaining ranch equipment.
* Performing general ranch maintenance, including repairs to fences, roads, and buildings.
* Lawn and pasture maintenance, including mowing and weed control.
* General mechanical experience is a plus.
* Performing other duties as assigned by the owners.

* Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

Pay: $3,000.00 – $3,333.33 per month
