Job Title: Hunting Ranch Manager

*Reports To:* Ranch Owner and Ranch Consultants

Position Overview

A premier family-owned and commercial duck, Whitetail, and exotic hunting ranch in Brazoria, Texas, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and versatile *Hunting Ranch & Lodge Manager*. This unique role requires a seamless blend of hands-on outdoor grit, top-tier guest relations, and high-end hospitality management.

The ideal candidate will oversee the day-to-day physical and wildlife operations of the property while serving as the primary face of the ranch lodge. This individual will handle sales and scheduling, act as the host for all visiting groups, and directly manage the hospitality team (including housekeeping and the chef) alongside hunting guides and contractors. Additionally, they will play a key foundational role in setting up the ranch’s digital business and accounting systems.

Duties and Responsibilities*Sales, Administration & Financial Setup*

* *Sales & Booking:* Handle inbound sales calls, make outbound follow-up calls, and actively book hunting groups and guests.
* *Calendar Management:* Masterfully organize and maintain both the *Guest Booking Calendar* and the *Ranch Operations/Maintenance Calendar* to ensure zero overlaps and seamless transitions.
* *Financial Software Setup:* Temporarily take the lead on setting up and implementing the ranch’s accounting/bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks or industry-specific software).
* *Budgeting & Reporting:* Manage and control operational costs (labor, fuel, feed, food/beverage, maintenance) and review vendor invoices. Provide routine written financial and operational reports directly to the Owner and Consultants.

*Guest Relations & Lodge Hospitality Management*

* *Hospitality & Hosting:* Serve as the primary host on the property, ensuring an exceptional, luxury-level experience for all guests and hunting parties from arrival to departure.
* *Staff Leadership:* Directly oversee, schedule, and manage the *lodge chef* and *housekeeping staff* to ensure world-class meals, pristine accommodations, and seamless service.
* *Guide Logistics:* Source, coordinate, and schedule hunting guides, dog handlers, and outfitters to ensure successful waterfowl and big game hunts.
* *Contractor Oversight:* Manage and schedule third-party contractors and maintenance vendors.

*Ranch & Wildlife Operations*

* *Waterfowl & Big Game Management:* Maintain and manage duck blinds, wetland areas, deer stands, and specialized corn/protein feeding programs tailored for both Whitetail and Exotic herds.
* *Land Maintenance:* Oversee and execute daily physical tasks alongside ranch hands, including high-fence building/repair, brush clearing, field shredding, and road maintenance.
* *Equipment & Infrastructure:* Operate and maintain heavy equipment, ranch vehicles, small engines, water tanks, wells, and irrigation systems.
* *Safety & Compliance:* Enforce company safety protocols, food safety standards, wildlife conservation ethics, and disease prevention.

Qualifications

* *Location/Commute:* Must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a *45-minute commute radius* of the property in Brazoria, TX.
* *Experience:* 5+ years of experience in ranch management, with a preferred focus on *duck, Whitetail, and Exotic hunting operations* alongside *high-end lodge/hospitality management*.
* *Hospitality & Sales Skills:* Proven experience managing hospitality staff (chefs, kitchen crews, and housekeepers). Excellent phone etiquette, guest-relations skills, and written communication are non-negotiable.
* *Tech-Savvy:* Proficiency with computers, email, digital calendars, and experience setting up or managing basic *accounting software*.
* *Mechanical & Physical Ability:* Capable of operating heavy machinery, performing basic handy-man/small engine repairs, and working outside in south-east Texas weather conditions for extended periods.
* *Leadership:* A natural leader who can easily pivot from directing a field crew of ranch hands to coordinating a fine-dining schedule with the chef.
* *Flexibility:* Must be willing to work extended hours, early mornings, and weekends, particularly during peak duck and deer hunting seasons.
* *Requirements:* Must have a clean driving record, pass a background check, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Conversational Spanish is a plus.
