Job Description

Responsibilities

* Plan, cultivate, and maintain organic vegetable, fruit, herb, and ornamental gardens.
* Develop and implement sustainable farming practices that promote soil health, biodiversity, and environmental stewardship.
* Grow seasonal produce for our farm-to-table meal program.
* Manage composting, irrigation, fertilization, mulching, and natural pest management using organic methods.
* Maintain fruit trees, edible landscapes, and greenhouse or nursery areas, if applicable.
* Select and grow a wide variety of Chinese and Asian vegetables, herbs, fruits, and medicinal plants.
* Apply knowledge of traditional Chinese gardening principles and Feng Shui where appropriate in garden planning and landscape design.
* Maintain garden tools, equipment, and outdoor workspaces in a safe and organized manner.
* Collaborate with school leadership to enhance the campus landscape and support sustainability initiatives.
* Occasionally engage children in age-appropriate gardening experiences and model safe gardening practices.
* Assist with seasonal planting, harvesting, special events, and campus beautification projects.

Pay: $26.33 – $31.71 per hour
