Job Description

*Plumper Farms* is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as our *Farm Lead*. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys building, repairing, improving, and maintaining a working farm while helping prepare for our busy fall festival and Christmas tree season.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver who takes pride in quality workmanship and isn’t afraid to tackle a wide variety of projects. You should be comfortable working independently, following direction, and leading a small team when needed. Experience with tools, equipment, general construction, maintenance, animals and outdoor work is essential.

As the Farm Lead, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the farm safe, functional, and looking its best. From constructing new attractions and repairing existing structures to maintaining equipment and animal pens, your work will directly contribute to creating memorable experiences for thousands of families.

*Farm Lead Responsibilities*

* Prepare the farm for the fall festival season, including setup, repairs, and improvements.
* Build, install, and maintain tents, fencing, signage, displays, and guest areas.
* Safely operate basic power tools and hand tools.
* Assist with mowing, landscaping, weed control, and general grounds upkeep.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for guests and employees.
* Identify maintenance needs and proactively complete projects to improve the farm.
* Organize and direct small groups of employees or seasonal workers assigned to projects.
* Assist with daily farm needs and special projects as they arise.

*Qualifications*

* Must be at least 21 years of age (Hayride operator).
* Must be comfortable operating and learning to safely use large farm equipment, including utility vehicles, tractors, forklifts, and other farm machinery. Prior equipment experience is preferred, but a willingness to learn and follow proper safety procedures is required.
* Previous experience with general maintenance, construction, landscaping, farming, or similar hands-on work preferred.
* Comfortable using basic power tools and hand tools.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
* Takes initiative and can identify tasks that need to be completed without constant supervision.
* Comfortable giving and receiving direction in a team environment.
* Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
* Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
* Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds.
* Valid driver’s license preferred.

*Availability*

* This position begins immediately and will continue through December for our Christmas season.
* Individuals who demonstrate strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to contribute as a valued member of our team may be offered part-time work opportunities after the new year.
* Working Monday–Friday through August, then transitioning to Wednesday–Sunday workdays through December.
* Typical schedule consists of 8+ hour shifts totaling 40+ hours per week.

Pay: $22.00 – $23.00 per hour
