Slaughter/Harvest Butcher for Beef & Bison
Full TimeJob Description
*Objective:*
Join our skilled team in skinning, trimming, and inspecting carcasses. Our team of butchers process up to 100 beef or bison per day.
*Schedule:* Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or until the work is done, Saturday as needed
*Requirements:*
* Good knife skills and safe handling
* Able to handle the sight of blood
* Open to working with and assisting others in a team environment
* Open to learning new skills
* Timelines and punctuality of attendance is mandatory, because of the nature of the line coordination with other employees
* Strong attention to detail
* A good attitude towards continuous improvements of food safety practices (GMP’s, HACCP, SQF system0
* Maintain a clean and safe work area
*Language Skills:*
* Fluency in English (verbal and written)
* Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) is preferred
*Education and Experience:*
* Slaughter floor experience in an USDA inspected facility preferred
*Work Environment *
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a moving carcass on a rail system, debris and wet floor. Work in acrid odors and sometimes very hot (mainly July & August) conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
