*Overview*
The Swine Field Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the final stages of production within our agricultural operations. This position requires a strong understanding of animal care and husbandry, as well as mechanical knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of equipment and processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in farming and agriculture, with a focus on animal handling and care. This role is essential for maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in our finishing operations.
*Duties*
* Supervise daily operations in the finishing area, ensuring adherence to protocols for animal care and husbandry.
* Manage and train staff on best practices for animal restraint, handling, and sanitation procedures.
* Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to maintain operational efficiency and safety.
* Collaborate with veterinary professionals to monitor animal health and implement necessary treatments.
* Utilize basic math skills for inventory management and record keeping.
* Perform some heavy lifting as required during daily operations.
* Implement genetic management practices to optimize livestock performance.
*Experience*
* Proven experience in farming or agricultural settings is beneficial.
* Familiarity with animal handling techniques, including restraint and care, is essential.
* Mechanical knowledge is important for troubleshooting equipment issues.
* Strong understanding of sanitation practices within an agricultural environment.
* Ability to perform some heavy lifting as part of daily responsibilities.
