Lone Star Ranch is seeking an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused *Wrangler / Trail Guide* to join our team. Our wranglers are much more than trail guides—they are ambassadors of the ranch experience. You’ll safely guide horseback trail rides, interact with guests of all experience levels, assist with ranch activities, and help create exceptional memories for every visitor.

*Position Summary*

The Wrangler is responsible for safely leading horseback trail rides, ensuring the health and care of ranch horses, providing outstanding guest service, and supporting ranch operations. This position requires excellent horsemanship, confidence working with people, and a commitment to safety and professionalism.

*Primary Responsibilities*

* Lead horseback trail rides for guests of all riding experience levels.
* Provide safety briefings and horse handling instruction before each ride.
* Ensure guests have a fun, safe, and memorable ranch experience.
* Match horses appropriately with riders based on skill and comfort level.
* Groom, tack, saddle, and properly care for horses before and after rides.
* Monitor horse health and immediately report any concerns.
* Maintain clean, organized barns, tack rooms, arenas, and riding areas.
* Assist with feeding, watering, and general daily horse care.
* Support additional ranch activities such as:
* Archery
* Trap Shooting
* Roping
* ATV Adventures
* Buckaroo Programs
* Corporate Events
* Birthday Parties
* Assist with event setup, guest hospitality, and general ranch operations.
* Promote a positive, professional, and safety-focused environment.
* Represent Lone Star Ranch with professionalism and enthusiasm.

*Qualifications*

* Minimum *5 years of horseback riding experience*.
* Minimum *5 years of horse handling and care experience*.
* Strong knowledge of:
* Horse behavior
* Grooming
* Saddling
* Tack
* Equine safety
* Comfortable riding a variety of horses in outdoor trail environments.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Friendly, outgoing personality with the ability to engage guests of all ages.
* Ability to remain calm and confident in changing situations.
* Strong work ethic and willingness to assist wherever needed.
* Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

*Preferred Qualifications*

* Previous experience as a trail guide, wrangler, ranch hand, riding instructor, or equine professional.
* CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
* Experience working with children, families, and corporate groups.
* Experience leading large groups safely.

*Schedule*

* Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available
* Weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
* Flexible scheduling available

*Pay*

* Paid by the trail ride, not hourly
* $18 for first ride of the day, $15 for a second or third ride of the day
* 100% of tips. Based on the experience you provide the guests

Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
