*Job Summary*

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Farm Caretaker to oversee daily farm operations, property maintenance, equipment maintenance, over our tenants and land management. This vital role involves maintaining farm machinery, and supporting sustainable farming practices. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, hands-on experience in agricultural work, and a passion for outdoor farm environments. The pay includes lodging onsite, can accomodate a couple. Its $1500 for your unit and the balance you get $2560/month + health insurance. Other benefits are that you have access to our community gardens harvest and organic macadamia nuts.

*Duties*

* Provide comprehensive care for farm animals, we currently only have 2 cats and 2 horses.
* Operate and maintain a variety of farm machinery such as tractors, excavators, chainsaws, irrigation systems, and power tools with safety and precision
* Conduct routine repairs and maintenance on equipment and infrastructure using welding, mechanical knowledge, and manual handling skills
* Assist with planting, growing, harvesting crops, and greenhouse management to support sustainable agricultural practices
* Manage any tenants repairs
* Oversee safety protocols during all activities to ensure a secure working environment for team members and woofers
* Support land management activities such as fencing repairs, irrigation setup, soil preparation, and general outdoor upkeep
* Guide educational farm tours and oversee student programs

*Requirements*

* Proven experience in farming or agriculture with hands-on knowledge of organic crop cultivation and livestock management
* Supervising experience or leadership skills in farm settings preferred
* Ability to operate heavy equipment including tractors, forklifts, and agricultural machinery safely and efficiently
* Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair, welding, maintenance of farm machinery, and basic troubleshooting
* Knowledge of animal husbandry practices for various livestock species including equine care and livestock handling techniques
* Familiarity with safety standards in production environments to ensure compliance at all times
* Physical ability for heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, outdoor work in various weather conditions, and long periods of standing or walking
* Basic math skills for measurements and record keeping; experience with irrigation systems or horticulture is advantageous
* Strong communication skills combined with an enthusiastic attitude towards teamwork in a dynamic farm environment
* Good people skills – teaching and educating
