*Full Time Position:* Assistant Farm Manager
Washington Farms is one of Georgia’s premier agritourism destinations, welcoming thousands of guests each spring and fall. We are seeking a full-time Assistant Farm Manager to work alongside our Farm Manager in overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, construction projects, and seasonal activities across the farm.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, building projects, solving problems, and taking pride in high quality work. No two days are the same, and the ability to adapt and learn is essential.
*Primary Responsibilities*
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Operate farm equipment including tractors, skid steers, mowers, and other machinery.
Assist with planting, harvesting, irrigation, and general farm operations.
Perform landscaping, property maintenance, and upkeep throughout the farm.
Assist with construction projects including fences, barns, sheds, attractions, and other farm improvements.
Perform equipment maintenance and minor mechanical repairs.
Help set up, maintain, and tear down seasonal attractions and events.
Assist with supervising seasonal employees and providing excellent customer service during our spring and fall agritourism seasons.
Work closely with the Farm Manager on a wide variety of projects as priorities change throughout the year.
*Qualifications*
The ideal candidate will:
Have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
Be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Be mechanically inclined and comfortable using a variety of tools and equipment.
Be physically capable of performing strenuous outdoor work and lifting heavy materials.
Be organized and take pride in maintaining equipment and work areas.
Be willing to work evenings, weekends, and longer hours during peak spring and fall seasons.
Previous farm, construction, landscaping, mechanical, or agricultural experience is preferred but not required.
*Preferred Skills*
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
Tractor and heavy equipment operation
Construction or carpentry
Welding and fabrication
Plumbing or electrical
Irrigation systems
Equipment maintenance and repair
Landscaping and grounds maintenance
Livestock care
Weed management and agricultural chemical application
