*Overview*
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician specializing in agricultural equipment to join our team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of heavy machinery, including farm implements, industrial equipment, and commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical expertise, experience with diesel engines, and a passion for maintaining and repairing complex systems. Candidates with dealership experience and familiarity with OEM parts are highly preferred. This role provides a dynamic environment where technical skills and customer service intersect, ensuring optimal equipment performance for our clients.
*Responsibilities*
* Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related components on agricultural machinery, heavy equipment, and industrial vehicles
* Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmission servicing, and tire replacements
* Utilize schematics, OEM manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
* Conduct fabrication tasks including welding, assembly, and modifications as needed
* Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently
* Repair hydraulic systems, suspensions, air brakes, HVAC systems, and alignments on various machinery
* Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and other specialized tools to complete repairs accurately
* Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and recommendations
* Adhere to safety protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe working environment
*Requirements*
* Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic; agriculture experience is a plus
* Strong mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and vehicle maintenance
* Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, schematics reading, welding (including TIG/MIG), soldering, and assembly tasks
* Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts safely
* Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs and repair procedures for Caterpillar or similar brands
* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs
* Ability to lift heavy components regularly and perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and tire service
* Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL or tractor-trailer experience is advantageous
* Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs
