Farm Maintenance Technician

Job Description

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Expected to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in a safe manner and according to the standard set by B & W.

· Travel to farm locations daily to grease equipment and top off fluids on all equipment not currently in use.

· Inspect all assets/equipment for mechanical or safety concerns affecting the equipment or operators.

· Check, adjust, and replace belts on equipment and vehicles as needed.

· Perform minor repairs including, but not limited to:

* batteries
* lights
* wiper blades
* tires
* other basic maintenance items

· Retrieve equipment/assets from field locations and transport them to the shop for repairs when necessary.

· Assist shop mechanics with tasks requiring additional support.

· Report detailed findings from field inspections to the shop, including equipment requiring additional mechanical evaluation, repairs, or parts.

· Accurately, log labor time, equipment numbers, and service information in E-Maint.

· Notify the shop of potential issues identified during inspections or servicing.

· Check all equipment/asset stickers and coordinate replacements for missing or faded stickers, including installation.

· Perform both emergency and corrective action repairs.

*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: *

· *1-3 years of Diesel and Farm Equipment Maintenance experience required. *

· *Must have basic mechanical knowledge and be willing to learn and follow B&W procedures and guidelines.*

· *Must possess a valid and clean driver’s license. *

*COMMUNICATION SKILL LEVEL: High*

*COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic*

Must be able to work in a variety of environments, a cold environment of 32 to 40 degrees, an environment of approximately 75 degrees as well as outside in the heat.
