Bay Breeze Farms in Ruskin, Florida, is looking for someone to manage and operate a sod farm. The ideal candidate is an energetic leader with practical agricultural experience, who has good communication skills and interacts well with employees, customers, and vendors.
Responsibilities will include:
* Coordinate schedules and direct work activities of employees
* Manage farm employees time and performance
* Train employees in their tasks and ensure Agricultural BMP’s and Health and Safety protocols are being followed including WPS
* Plan and implement horticultural programs including Fertility, Weed, Insect, and Irrigation Management
* Maintain records including Chemical and Fertilizer applications, Equipment maintenance, Harvest records, and Water Management records
* Provide excellent customer service and attention to customer needs
* Accountable for operation costs and expenses
Job Requirements:
* Practical Agricultural experience
* Knowledge of farm machinery and basic mechanics with the ability to calibrate equipment
* Excellent communication skills
* Reasonable computer skills with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook) experience
* Florida Private applicator’s pesticide license
* Prefer a 4-year degree in agriculture science
* Must have a valid and clean driver’s license
* Willing to work agricultural hours that can include weekends and holidays
* Must be able to work in an agricultural setting in the hot sun and in office
* Understands P & L Statement and budgeting
* Bilingual preferred
