Farm Operator

Prairie Farms is a well-established, faith-based, family farm located in Meade county near Fowler, KS. Prairie Farms uses soil health practices to grow milo, corn, wheat, and dry beans on irrigated and dryland acres. They farm with late model John Deere and Claas equipment with autosteer and Gen4 & 5 screens. They irrigate with natural gas engines and Valley sprinkler systems. Prairie Farms employs new technology to operate and manage their farm.

Job description: Maintain, repair and operate equipment and facilities, including farm machinery, irrigation engines and systems, semis and trailers, vehicles, grain storage and sheds. Document operation and maintenance activities. Participate in irrigation on-call rotation. Perform assigned tasks and projects.

Qualities needed: Highly detail-oriented, positive attitude, team player, initiative, neatness, hard work, flexible, negative drug test, Class A or CDL driver license prefered

Compensation: Negotiable, commensurate with experience and education

Hours (approximate):
Summer and harvest hours 7am to about 7pm except Sunday
Off season hours 8 to 5:30pm Monday through Friday, Saturday hours 8 to noon as needed
Sunday off except harvest afternoons and irrigation on-call.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
