We are seeking a dedicated, energetic, and experienced Barn/ Trail Guide Manager to join our team in sunny, beautiful Puerto Rico for a horseback riding business along pristine beaches and tropical forests. This position is ideal for someone passionate about providing exceptional equine care and management, with a strong focus on nutrition, health, and overall horse well-being. The candidate must have excellent communication skills with guests, staff, and scheduling reservations. *Qualifications: *
* 3-5 years of prior supervisory experience in Equine Ranch or comparable setting with hands-on horse experience including riding and/ or training.
* Strong customer service ability and sales on the phone for reservations. Bilingual in English/ Spanish.
* Desire to establish outstanding, authentic, and memorable interactions with guests.
* Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or employees in English/ Spanish
* Integrity, consistency, dependability, adaptability, and problem solver.
* Skilled at multi-tasking, heightened attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and organization.
* Deep commitment to teamwork
* Ability to lift, push, and pull minimum 50 lbs.
* Able to work on site and to stand, sit, walk, and move continuously for duration of shift to perform physical tasks associated with horse handling and barn operations.
* Ability to work outside in varying temperatures.
*Primary Responsibilities:*
* Coordination, scheduling and execution of trail rides and ranch activities.
* Oversee preparing horses for trail rides and horse related activities, such as grooming, bridling, saddling, feeding, doctoring, and tack repair
* Ability to match saddles/tack to horses to avoid saddle sores
* Monitor the trail riding horse herd, daily, for soundness and weight. Assist in daily herd health management and identify injuries or soundness issues prior to selecting horses for activities; assist in basic veterinary care as needed and designing feed programs based on body condition.
* Knowledgeable of and ability to demonstrate advanced skill, confidence and sensitivity in handling and riding horses of varied temperament and training levels, assisting guests onto horses, guiding them on rides when necessary, and conversing about the horses to provide an exemplary guest experience.
* Assist in overseeing team members to ensure department practices and safety measures are consistent and proactively offering help and contributing to a positive barn culture.
* The person in this role also utilizes independent judgement and discretion to manage, mentor, coach, discipline, train and hold staff accountable. They participate and influence hiring and other employment decisions.
* Performs reliably under pressure while maintaining composure and focus.
* Adapts to changing priorities, guest needs, and ranch conditions with professionalism and positivity.
* Assist with vet and ferrier visits
*REQUIREMENTS*
* Must be able to present proof of identity and legal right to work in the United States post offer, pre-employment.
* Conditional offer subject to criminal background check.
* Open availability to accommodate varying schedules as well as able to work on weekends and holidays.
* Ability to safely handle horses.
