*Overview*
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and vehicle fleets to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep operations running smoothly and efficiently across various sectors, including construction, agriculture, and transportation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery and develop your skills in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment. Some travel will be required.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, electrical testing, and mechanical inspection techniques to identify issues with heavy equipment, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicles.
* Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems to restore equipment to optimal working condition.
* Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills for assembly and repair tasks.
* Maintain and service a variety of machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other heavy-duty equipment while adhering to safety standards.
* Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics for both light and heavy vehicles to ensure reliable operation.
* Perform routine preventative maintenance such as tire service, brake repair, wheel alignment, lubrication, and fluid changes to extend equipment lifespan.
* Assist with equipment installation or assembly projects as needed; support heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate techniques.
* Keep detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
*Experience*
* Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and repair across multiple sectors such as construction or agriculture.
* Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and metalworking is advantageous.
* Knowledge of Caterpillar and John Deere machinery helpful
* Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex systems including hydraulics, electrical wiring, transmissions, HVAC units, and suspension components.
* Experience working with farm machinery like tractors or combines; industrial equipment such as cranes or excavators; automotive repair including brake systems and tire service; or power tools for assembly and repair tasks.
* Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience; ability to perform soldering or electrical diagnostics when necessary.
Pay: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour
