Job Brief: The Orchard Farm Manager also known as Ranch Foreman is responsible for supporting Washington Fruit orchards, commonly known as farms or ranches. The Ranch Foreman will assist the Area Manager in managing all aspects of orchard operations and overall health of the orchard and fruit production. This position oversees the management of ranch manager assistants, field supervisors, crew leaders and field laborers as well as completing tasks required by the Area Manager.
Responsibilities & Duties:
* Direct, manage, coordinates, and supervises personnel and ranch activities, such as: pruning, thinning, frost control, irrigation, horticulture, chemical/fertilizer applications and harvesting, ensuring the company’s quality and production goals are met.
* Evaluate oral, written, and digital reports.
* Forecasting and staffing adequate labor personnel for the farm.
* Observe overall operations and monitor progress of work to detect and resolve obstacles.
* Determine and authorize alternative procedures and tactics to mitigate variables, such as weather conditions, water supply, and stage of crop or tree development.
* Strictly follow and enforce all company policies and worker protection standards.
* Analyze orchard financial statements and participate in budget development and management.
* Oversee farm crop load estimation, execution, forecasting and ultimate production.
* Hire, train, and supervise workers engaged in planting, cultivating, irrigating, harvesting and crops.
* Provide development and training as needed to direct reports, in partnership with the Human Resources Department.
* Manage employee wellbeing.
* Manage all digital farm platforms/software.
* Manage other duties, as assigned.

* Basic computer technology skills (i.e. Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and miscellaneous digital platforms, etc.).
* Professional conduct with the public, outside vendors, regulatory agencies, and subordinates.
* Ability to communicate and develop an effective working relationship with orchard management peers and senior leadership.
* Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
* Ability to work with agricultural machinery and equipment.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to: Lift 50 plus pounds, smell, hear, see 20+ feet with or without corrective lenses, distinguish between colors, stand/walk/crouch for extended periods.
* Physical stamina and strength to endure long, unconventional, hours in all weather conditions.
Qualifications:
* Hands-on experience in farming and agriculture; preferably tree fruit.
* Knowledge of safety procedures and standards for farm operations and worker protections.
* Proven managerial skills.
* Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and ability to be insured by the company based on insurance mandated requirements.
* Must possess or acquire a WSDA-Washington State Department of Agriculture Private Applicators License.
* High School Diploma or GED.
* College Degree preferred but not required.
* 3+ years of Farm and or Ranch supervisory/management experience is preferred. May substitute education and/or other management experience.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,168.40 – $100,000.00 per year
