Sod Farm Mechanic & Equipment Operator
Full-Time or Part-Time | Flexible Hours | Competitive Pay
We are looking for a mechanically skilled Sod Farm Mechanic & Equipment Operator to help maintain our equipment and irrigation systems and assist with farm operations.
This position can be full-time or part-time with flexible hours. We are especially open to an experienced mechanic, farmer, equipment operator, or semi-retired individual looking for flexible work where their mechanical experience can be put to good use.
Responsibilities

Maintain and repair tractors, mowers, sod harvesters, skid steers, loaders, trucks, trailers, and other farm equipment
Perform preventive maintenance and identify problems before they cause downtime
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues
Maintain and repair center pivot irrigation systems, pumps, valves, piping, sprinklers, and related components
Perform basic welding, fabrication, hose, bearing, belt, and other equipment repairs
Operate tractors, mowers, sod harvesting equipment, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts
Assist with mowing, harvesting, seeding, field preparation, and other farm operations as needed
Keep the shop, tools, parts, and maintenance records organized

What We’re Looking For

Strong mechanical and troubleshooting ability
Experience with agricultural, diesel, construction, turf, or heavy equipment
Knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems
Comfortable operating tractors and equipment
Dependable and able to work independently
Welding/fabrication and irrigation experience are a plus
CDL is a plus but not required

Schedule & Compensation
Full-time or flexible part-time. For a part-time candidate, we can work around other employment, farming, retirement, or personal commitments.
Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications. Full-time benefits may be available based on eligibility.
We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of equipment, catches problems before they become breakdowns, and enjoys keeping machinery running properly.
