Full TimeJob Description
Everyday care of livestock sheep and livestock guardian dogs includes but not limited to feeding, bedding, medications, trimming feet, stall cleaning, lambing, monitoring inventory grain, hay and medications.
Must be able to take direction to learn, make sound reasonable decisions, follow instruction and independently complete task without constant follow-up. Must be honest, trustworthy and treat family and visitors to farm with the utmost respect.
Everyday farming activities using various farm equipment such as tractors, skid steers, manure spreaders. mowers and weed whackers. Be respectful of all farm equipment and vehicles.
Assist with hay harvest.
Care of fruit trees in orchard trimming trees and harvesting fruits.
Assist in the care of Bee Hives.
General maintenance of equipment.
Maintain grounds at all times in and around farm buildings, barns and pastures on premises.
Must be able to work in various environmental Pennsylvania conditions
MUST COMMUNICATE daily with owner keep records of time, to do list and task completed and long term goals.
Must be of good physical condition may require lifting 100# 50# on average.
Willing to teach a hard working individual skills they do not possess.

As a Sheep Shepherd and Farm Worker, you will be essential in managing and caring for sheep and LGDs, ensuring their health and well-being while maintaining farm operations. This role requires core skills in animal husbandry, pasture management, and shearing techniques. You will report to the Farm Manager and collaborate with other farm staff to implement best practices in livestock care. Your premium skills in problem-solving and communication will enhance teamwork and efficiency.
