Cumberland Estate is a collection of historical homes and includes nearly 6,000 acres of mixed timber, pine, pasture and crops. We offer vacation rentals, private dining, weddings, events and hunting opportunities.

*Reports To:* Farm & Heavy Equipment Manager

*Job Summary:*

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious *Tractor Operator* to operate and maintain tractors and a wide range of attached implements used for agricultural, landscaping, or land management purposes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both standard and specialized implements, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to productivity and equipment care.

*Key Responsibilities:*

* Operate tractors with a variety of implements including:
* Plows, Harrows, and Discs for tilling and soil preparation
* Mowers and Brush Hogs for field clearing and maintenance
* Bale Wrappers and Balers for hay and forage handling
* Box Blades and Graders for leveling surfaces and maintaining roads
* Front-End Loaders for material handling and loading tasks
* Sprayers for applying fertilizers and pesticides
* Post Hole Diggers for fencing and structural work
* Rotary Tillers for garden and small-plot soil work
* Conduct daily pre- and post-operation inspections on tractors and implements.
* Perform basic maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, minor repairs) on equipment.
* Safely maneuver tractors on uneven, sloped, or wet terrain.
* Transport and attach/detach implements using 3-point hitches and PTO (Power Take-Off) systems.
* Follow all safety protocols and site-specific guidelines.
* Document completed work, fuel use, and maintenance logs accurately.

*Required Skills & Qualifications:*

* Minimum 2 years of experience operating tractors and implements in an agricultural, landscaping, or construction setting.
* Demonstrated knowledge of PTO operation, hydraulic controls, and implement calibration.
* Ability to properly adjust implement depth, speed, and coverage depending on field or task requirements.
* Skilled in attaching, detaching, and maintaining implements, including troubleshooting mechanical issues.
* Strong awareness of terrain, weather conditions, and safety hazards.

*Preferred Qualifications:*

* Valid driver’s license with truck/trailer towing experience
* Familiarity with large equipment brands (John Deere, Kubota, Case IH, etc.)

*Physical Requirements:*

* Ability to sit, bend, lift (50+ lbs), and operate machinery for extended periods
* Work outdoors in various weather conditions
* Manual dexterity for equipment operation and minor repairs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour
