*Job Summary*
We are seeking a skilled and reliable, Almond Harvesting Equipment Mechanic to join our agricultural team. The ideal candidate for this position has hands-on mechanical experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and product quality. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Equipment Mechanic will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of work.
*Responsibilities*
*Mechanical Duties:*
* Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on various types of harvesting equipment, including shakers, sweepers, conditioners and tractor-trailers.
* Perform regular preventative maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
* Troubleshoot engine issues, hydraulic leaks, electrical faults, and drivetrain components.
* Maintain equipment records, maintenance logs, and parts inventories.
* Interpret schematics to understand the workings of complex machinery.
* Fabricate or modify parts using basic welding and machining tools as needed.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency.
* Ensure all equipment is compliant with safety standards and operational during harvest seasons.
* Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs.
* Weekend work, when needed, is required.
*Skills*
* Proficient in harvesting equipment & semi-truck maintenance.
* Strong understanding of automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately.
* Ability to read and interpret schematics for various types of machinery.
* Experience in assembling and disassembling mechanical components.
* Capable of performing heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
* Knowledge of soldering techniques for electrical repairs.
* Familiarity with farm machinery operations and maintenance requirements.
* Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
