*Greens Do Good*, part of REED Autism Services, is looking for a Farm Manager to lead our hydroponic farm – where sustainable farming meets social impact. This hands-on role blends expertise in hydroponics, team leadership, and operations with a mission to grow fresh produce and create meaningful opportunities for individuals with autism. *Job Overview: *

The Farm Manager is a crucial leadership position overseeing the daily operation, management, and strategic growth of Greens Do Good’s hydroponic farm in Hackensack, NJ. The manager is responsible for ensuring efficient crop production, maintaining all facilities and equipment, and successfully executing business, training, and sales support functions. This role demands a strong combination of hands-on agricultural expertise, effective staff management, technical proficiency in systems troubleshooting, financial accountability (inventory, Cost of Goods Sold reports, purchasing), strict adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and professional client management.

*Key Responsibilities:*

(1) Manage all daily farm operations, including input, process, logistics, growing, staff supervision, and inventory management.

(2) Supervise farm staff in their completion of:

* Basic crop tasks (sowing; watering; transplanting; harvesting; packing;)
* System maintenance (measurements and adjustments to the nutrient solution; tower deconstruction and cleaning)
* General maintenance (cleaning of farm equipment; facilities)

(3) Crop Planning:

* Proactively schedule weekly sowing and transplanting dates based on client needs.
* Forecast crop yields and subsequent revenue week over week; reporting variances/losses to senior management.

(4) Conduct daily farm walkthroughs to scout for pests, plant deficiencies, and diseases, in addition to identifying any mechanical issues.

(5) Track daily crop growth and harvest data (yield, destination, etc) in farm software.

(6) Administrative responsibilities:

* Daily review and upkeep of documentation for USDA, FDA, Jersey Fresh, and local health and fire department audits/inspections; scheduling inspections.
* Dayforce scheduling, payroll review and approval for reporting staff; PTO approval
* Monitor COGS and general supply inventory levels and place routine monthly orders.

(7) Sales/Client Management

* Maintain open lines of communication with Greens Do Good’s standing clients.
* Create & print invoices in NetSuite prior to deliveries each morning.
* Develop an understanding of optimal delivery routes and procedures

(8) External Partnerships

* Oversee the planting and biweekly maintenance of client hydroponic systems offsite.
* Manage farm internship partnerships with Bergen County Academies and Bergen Community College; oversee student training and development.

(9) Ensure that all staff, workforce development participants, interns and volunteers are adequately trained on and comply with Standard Operation Procedures and Standard Sanitization & Safety procedures.

(10) Promote a healthy, hygienic and safe environment and help develop a culture of cleanliness and safety.

*Job Qualifications:*

* 2-3 years of agriculture experience; Hydroponics or CEA experience a plus
* Staff management experience
* Business Leadership
* Multitasking/ability to cross train
* Working and collaborating in small, diverse teams
* Attention to detail
* Ability to operate power tools and/or other equipment as required
* Ability to work independently
* Enthusiasm and ideas for business improvement
* Ability to follow documented procedures, collect data and contribute to the intellectual capital of Greens Do Good.

Pay: $55,000.00 – $61,000.00 per year
