Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator/Truck Driver to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of construction machinery and commercial trucks to support excavation, grading, utility work, and site development projects. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment is maintained properly, safety procedures are followed diligently, and project timelines are met efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction projects while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
* Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, water trucks, and Caterpillar machinery to perform excavation, grading, utility installation, and site preparation tasks
* Drive commercial trucks including water trucks and other utility vehicles to transport materials and equipment safely across construction sites
* Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety standards
* Assist with construction utility work by locating underground utilities using specialized equipment and following federal safety regulations
* Follow all construction safety procedures, equipment safety protocols, and federal construction safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment
* Support construction site activities by performing grading operations, utility installation, and site cleanup as needed
* Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and safety inspections
Qualifications
* Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks in a construction environment
* Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record for truck driving responsibilities
* Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining construction machinery
* Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures
* Ability to perform utility locating using specialized tools and techniques in compliance with safety standards
* Strong understanding of construction site operations including excavation, grading, utility work, and site cleanup
* Construction experience with an emphasis on utility work or excavation projects is highly preferred
