Harvest truck driver/tractor driver

Seasonal

Cloninger Farms –  Farmington, WA

Job Description

Cloninger Farms is a family farming operation based out of Farmington, WA. We are currently gearing up for our summer harvest of wheat, canola, and lentils, and we are looking for reliable, hardworking individuals to join our crew.

This position starts immediately. For the first few weeks, you will be assisting with shop work, equipment maintenance, and odd jobs to ensure our fleet is 100% ready to roll. From mid-July through mid-September, you will transition into your primary harvest role: safely operating straight trucks, Peterbilt semi-trucks, or bankout wagons to keep our combines moving in the field.

For the right applicant who demonstrates a strong work ethic and takes ownership of their daily responsibilities, there is a strong opportunity to stay on through the fall season and work into a permanent, full-time job if interested.

Don’t have farming experience? We are happy to train the right person. If you have a strong work ethic, a good attitude, and can work seamlessly alongside our family and current employees, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
Pre-Harvest (Starting ASAP): Assist with shop prep, equipment greasing/maintenance, cleaning, yard work, and other general farm duties.
Harvest (Mid-July to Mid-September): Safely operate semi-trucks, straight trucks, or bankout wagons (grain carts) in steep, rolling Palouse terrain.
Work alongside the combine operators (running Case IH equipment) to ensure efficient grain handling and transport.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
Communicate effectively with the harvest crew and management.

Qualification preferences but not required:
Experience is a plus, but we are happy to train. We will gladly train the right person who brings a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to take direction and work well with our family and crew.
Valid driver’s license (CDL is a major plus, but not strictly required for all roles depending on state ag exemptions).
Ability to work long hours, weekends, and adapt to weather-dependent schedules during the peak harvest push.
A mechanical aptitude and willingness to help turn wrenches or troubleshoot minor issues in the field.
Punctuality, reliability, and a team-first mindset.
